GIA

GIA is a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Yerevan, created by Courtyard Yerevan and brought to life within an interior thoughtfully designed by @studio_shoo.

The challenge was to craft a distinctive brand concept for a space with a pre-existing culinary vision and architectural identity. Our task was to seamlessly blend into what was already there—while still introducing a unique story and voice.

We built the brand around the idea of “the art of gathering”—a warm, effortless sense of connection. At the center of this world stands GIA: a symbolic persona with refined taste, intuitive elegance, and a natural ability to bring people together. GIA represents the presence of a woman—a muse, a host, a quiet force of nature.

The interior itself became our primary source of inspiration. Its rich palette of earthy tones, patterns, and textures informed the entire visual system. We developed four core symbols representing the elements—earth, sun, air, and water—each with its own color language and curated photostyle, embodying the sensory richness of its realm.

The visual identity of GIA is a tapestry of textures, shapes, and tones that mirror the abundance of nature. It is rooted in the landscapes of the Middle East and the Mediterranean, yet reinterpreted with softness, depth, and contemporary elegance.

GIA is more than a restaurant—it’s a celebration of nature’s gifts, of shared meals and timeless rituals. A space where beauty lives in the details, and every gathering tells a story.
